Narrative Objective Overview

Ashley wished be the most beautiful girl in the world. She wished to have blonde hair, blue eyes, have a thinner body, perfect eyesight, and clear skin. She met the Devil in the mall one day, not knowing who she was and wished to be, what Ashley called, beautiful. So the Devil did just that, Ashley's personality turned into the most cruel and malicious in the whole world. In the end, Ashley grew old and lived alone until she died fifty years later.

A Sense of Self

Essential Question- "A Sense of Self," Blog Post: How do moral and ethical convictions impact an individual,  a group, a society, and/or a community?

Standards Addressed: Write narratives to develop experiences using effective technique, well-chosen details, and well-structured sequences. The entry should include and introductory idea that identifies the focus, coherent progression of ideas and distinctive tone, and a final concluding statement.  

Moral convictions may impact an individual by resolving a conflict. For example, if someone were to see a dog in a hot car without the window rolled down, the right thing to do is to get the dog out of the car. By having the sense of right and wrong, that dog was able to live. Moral convictions not only allows people to help and better themselves, but they can also help and better a community. 

Ethical convictions may impact an individual by benefiting others. For example, if a person saw a hungry child standing out in the streets begging for food, the right thing to do is to feed that child. Ethical convictions is what gives people the need and desire to do the right thing. This impacts an individual because it keeps one child from starving. It also reduces the amount of conflicts that go on within a community.
